Joshua Teague is the newest member of the poultry team at Novus International. Earlier this year, Teague joined the intelligent nutrition company as the poultry senior sales specialist. In this role, he’s responsible for growing the layer and turkey business segments in the Midwest United States. Prior to joining Novus, he served as an assistant pedigree farm manager and then as a QA specialist for Cobb-Vantress, and most recently, as senior QA superintendent at Simmons Foods.
Teague’s experience in animal agriculture began as a child. Raised on a dairy farm and then a breeder farm, he says he can’t imagine working in another industry. “The people in this industry are a special group. There’s an adaptand-overcome mentality in the animal agriculture industry that I appreciate and identify with,” he said.
Novus Poultry Executive Sales Manager Ashley Drake said his professional experience and education made Teague a top choice for the role. “Josh’s background in breeders and broilers made him a great fit for our team, especially as those areas are part of our strategic focus,” she said. “Also, Josh’s experience in the processing side provides valuable insight that our team and our customers appreciate.”
Teague has degrees in poultry science from the University of Arkansas, a master’s in microbiology and cell science from the University of Florida and is working toward a master’s in business administration from Louisiana State University-Shreveport. He’s a member of The Poultry Federation and the National Turkey Federation.
