Arrests have been made in the case in which an armored truck company employee was robbed while walking into the Tyson Fresh Meats plant in Joslin, Illinois.
The incident occurred on May 31, in which the victim was walking into the plant to fill an automated teller machine (ATM) at the facility. The victim was robbed with a weapon “inferred,” the Rock Island County Sheriff’s Office (RICSO) stated in an earlier press release.
In an updated press release on the RICSO Facebook page, the agency announced that two men were taken into custody in relation to the case, in which “a large sum of currency” was taken. That release was published on June 7.
Arrested were Jordan R. Andrews, 24, and Evan F.H. Watz, 26. Both men face charges of theft and are being held under $1 million bonds.
RISCO stated in that release that a third suspect was being sought. He was identified as Raekwon Jefferson, 27. However, KWQC reported the next day that Jefferson was arrested in Davenport, Iowa, and was extradited back to Illinois. His bond was also set at $1 million.
The Illinois State Police (ISP) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) are assisting RICSO with the investigation.
