Gemstone Foods has appointed William T. Andersen as the new president and CEO of the company.
Andersen joins the protein processor after serving as Keystone Foods' executive vice president and president of USA Proteins, as well as holding senior leadership positions at Southeastern Mills, Gold Kist and Tyson.
Gemstone Foods, headquartered in Jackson, Mississippi, is a growing protein processor and supplier, providing custom sizing, portioning and packaging to the food service and retail distribution channels. According to the company’s website, its mission is to provide the value-added foodservice and wholesale poultry market with products that exceed its customers’ expectations.

Andersen has more than 20 years of experience in the protein industry. He is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy and has post-graduate degrees in business management from Central Michigan University and Duke University.
