A Tyson Foods warehouse in Indianapolis, Indiana, was badly damaged as a result of a New Year’s Day fire.

The Indianapolis Fire Department (IFD) posted on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, that the warehouse was not presently being used by Tyson Foods, and its only contents were shelves. IFD stated that “squatters seeking shelter may be to blame for the fire.”

According to a report from WTHR, the IFD received a call around 1 p.m. on January 1. The fire was extinguished within 30 minutes. No injuries were reported, and the primary damages to the structure involved the roof and exterior wall.

WTHR also reported that the situation is being investigated.

An investigation is being conducted.

Earlier Tyson Foods fire

Fires have caused problems at two Tyson Foods facilities over the span of one week. On December 26, 2024, the company’s poultry plant in Camilla, Georgia, was the site of an explosion and fire.

The incident caused the death of one person, while several other people were injured. The deceased was not an employee at the plant, but rather the wife of a truck driver who transports goods to and from the plant.

A spokesperson for Tyson Foods said the company was “working closely” with authorities who are investigating the Camilla explosion and fire.

Koch Foods also experienced a recent plant fire in Fairfield, Ohio. A separate article on that situation appears on WATTPoultry.com.
