Farm Foundation invites nominations for its renowned Next Generation programs, fostering the development of young farmers and agri-food professionals. The Young Farmer Accelerator and Young Agri-Food Leaders programs are now accepting nominations for the 2024 cohorts until March 4, 2024.
Selected participants will engage in a year-long immersive experience, paired with a senior mentor from the agribusiness or farming sector. The programs offer interactive learning, networking and exclusive opportunities, including an all-expense-paid trip to a Farm Foundation Round Table meeting and another in-person industry event.
Established in 2020, these Next Generation programs are now in their fourth cohorts, standing out for their ability to connect emerging leaders with a diverse network, providing insights across the entire food supply chain.
Jenna Wicks, program manager, emphasizes the impact of Farm Foundation's non-partisan approach: "Our 'accelerate people' motto is more than words–the results from these programs speak for themselves."
Trista Danos, a recent participant in the Young Agri-Food Leaders program, praised the experience: "This program brought me back into agriculture conversations I missed since graduating. In a few short months, I've grown personally and professionally, learning from others' career journeys, trending topics, and new ag processes. Grateful for this experience."
Eligibility criteria include U.S. citizenship, ages 21-40 for the Young Farmer Accelerator, and ages 25-40 for the Young Agri-Food Leader program, with active involvement in farming or employment in the agri-food industry, respectively.
Nomination forms and additional details for both programs are available on the Farm Foundation website. Nominations, including self-nominations, can be submitted by anyone familiar with the nominee.
