Atria Estonia solidifies its commitment to local pork production with the purchase of two pig farms in Southern Estonia, located in Veelikse village, Mulgimaa. The move comes in response to Estonia's stable pork consumption, with Atria aiming to secure a steady supply of domestic pork for the future.
Olle Horm, managing director of Atria Estonia, emphasized the significance of offering domestic pork to consumers, highlighting Estonia's 70 percent pork self-sufficiency. With this acquisition, Atria now owns six pig farms in Estonia, boasting an annual production capacity of approximately five million kilos.
Horm further stated plans to invest in the renovation of the newly acquired pig breeding facilities, underlining Atria's commitment to responsible food production and its desire to contribute to the entire food chain in Estonia.
