Cobb-Vantress announces grant recipients

Four researchers are honored.

Cobb-Vantress, a leader in poultry genetics, announces the recipients of the 2024 Cobb Research Initiative (CRI) grants. These new recipients join the ranks of innovative researchers whose work is poised to advance poultry genetics, enhance animal health and drive sustainability in the poultry industry.

The CRI is dedicated to fostering global collaborations that push the boundaries of poultry genetics, aiming to address key challenges such as disease prevention, cost reduction and product quality enhancement. This year's grant recipients reflect a commitment to integrating cutting-edge technology, including artificial intelligence (AI) and precision farming, to make significant strides in these areas.

Dr. William Herring, vice president of research and development at Cobb, highlighted the global interest in the initiative, noting that nearly half of the submissions were from international institutions. "The research community is eager to partner with Cobb, particularly in leveraging advanced technologies for precision farming," said Herring.

Joyce J. Lee, president of Cobb, emphasized the company's pioneering role at the intersection of science, technology and animal health. "Our funding demonstrates Cobb's commitment to genetic advancement, recognizing the growing global demand for healthy, sustainable, and affordable protein," said Lee.
