The U.S. poultry industry continues to innovate with a focus on sustainability, particularly in protein conversion. The 2024 Poultry Protein & Fat Seminar, hosted by USPOULTRY and the Poultry Protein & Fat Council (PPFC), will bring together industry experts to discuss the latest advancements in rendering. The seminar, scheduled for Oct. 16-17 at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Downtown in Nashville, Tenn., aims to provide professionals with insights into leadership, technology, safety practices and foreign material detection.
Hal Davis, regional vice president for Darling Ingredients and the seminar’s program chair, noted, “Advancing rendering operations is crucial for the poultry industry’s sustainability efforts. This year’s program will focus on regulations, leadership strategies, and the challenges of retaining the next generation of rendering professionals.”
Key topics include odor management, virtual plant tours, dissolved air flotation skimmings and a report on PPFC’s activities and research funding. The seminar will feature industry leaders, including Daniel Crowe (Pilgrim’s), Hal Davis (Darling Ingredients), Greg Drollinger (3D Corporate Solutions), Michael Fairbairn (Fieldale Farms), Barry Griffith (Tyson Foods) and Michael Peters (Darling Ingredients).
