Butterball helping make lasting Thanksgiving memories

The company is collaborating with StoryCorps Studios to record conversations about Thanksgiving memories and traditions.

Butterball has teamed up with StoryCorps Studios, a division of the national nonprofit StoryCorps, to create the National Thanksgiving Archive, a special collection of conversations about Thanksgiving memories and traditions, housed at the Library of Congress. This new initiative encourages people across the country to record their Thanksgiving stories, preserving memories and fostering togetherness.

The Butterball Togetherness Report: 2024 Thanksgiving Outlook reveals that while many Americans look forward to Thanksgiving for family time (70%) and food (57%), they also experience anxiety around discussing current events or politics (67%). To promote positive connections, Butterball and StoryCorps have created a platform where people can record conversations with loved ones to celebrate shared Thanksgiving experiences.

Participants can visit storycorps.org/nationalthanksgivingarchive to record their stories, with options to include their submissions in the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress. The archive offers prompts, recording tips and the chance to contribute to the largest single collection of human voices ever gathered.

In addition to this initiative, Butterball’s Turkey Talk-Line is open for the holiday season, offering expert guidance for all levels of holiday hosts. Consumers can reach the Talk-Line via phone, text, and Butterball's social media channels through December 24 for cooking tips, recipes, and live support.
