Nebraska Department of Agriculture celebrating winners of photo contest

Organization has created a 2025 calendar highlighting the dedication to poultry care.

The Nebraska Department of Agriculture (NDA) is celebrating the winners of its annual Poultry Photo Contest by featuring their photos in a special 2025 calendar, available for viewing and download on NDA’s website at nda.nebraska.gov/animal/avian. Displayed at the Nebraska State Fair, these photos highlight the dedication of 4-H and FFA members to poultry care and health.

“This contest showcases the commitment of young poultry owners,” said NDA Director Sherry Vinton, expressing pride in the participants' work. The students with winning entries are Jacelyn Brown, Joel Brown, Kelsey Bunn, Reagan Dinger, Sofie Farr, Aaron Fuchs, Alandra Huntley, Emily Johnston, Kara Oberg, Piper Pillard, Reese Pillard, Molly Preston, and Brenna Steager.

The 2025 calendar not only celebrates the talents of these young photographers but also promotes biosecurity by providing essential information for poultry owners to safeguard their flocks. This aligns with NDA’s mission to prevent the spread of diseases like highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) and Virulent/Exotic Newcastle Disease. For further guidance on biosecurity, poultry owners can visit the NDA website or call 402-471-2351.
