NIAA addressing lameness issues

Organization is bringing together animal health experts for a session at the 2025 IPPE.

The National Institute for Animal Agriculture (NIAA) is bringing together animal health experts to tackle lameness issues across food animal species at a dedicated roundtable prior to the International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE) in Atlanta, Georgia. Scheduled for January 27-28, 2025, the event aims to address one of the most significant challenges in animal agriculture—lameness.

Registration for the roundtable includes a complimentary code for IPPE attendance, enhancing access to additional educational opportunities and industry networking.

A Collaborative Approach to Animal Health

The event, spearheaded by NIAA’s Animal Disease Issues & Emergency Management Council, will examine the latest research and developments related to bone health and lameness prevention and treatment in livestock and poultry. Lameness poses challenges across all species, affecting welfare, productivity and sustainability in animal agriculture.

By convening leaders and experts from various fields, the roundtable aims to facilitate cross-species learning and actionable solutions that can benefit the broader industry.

The roundtable will feature insights from a distinguished panel of speakers:
