Comedian and actress Amy Sedaris is using Hillshire Farm deli meats to create flavor-packed sandwiches inspired by some of her famous friends.

"With the exception of that tiny gold man statue they give for the acting or that little gramophone they give for the singing, there is no greater honor than to have a sandwich named after you," said Sedaris.

Sedaris has already unveiled the Andy Coham and the Hamy Sedarwich. The Coham, named after Bravo TV star Andy Cohen, features ham, provolone, mustard, challah, lettuce, tomato, pickles and shaved onion.

The Hamy Sedarwich, obviously named after the comedian herself, has black forest ham, roasted red peppers and butter lettuce. She topped the sandwich with olive eyes and a pickle tongue “because I like food that looks alive,” according to an interview with popculture.com.

On the turkey side, Sedaris created a turkey and cheese roll up to celebrate her brother, the author David Sedaris.

Why not go further? What about the Unbreakable Chicky Schmidt, using Hillshire’s rotisserie seasoned chicken breast and paying homage to Sedaris’ role in the Netflix show. I’m feeling inspired… and quite frankly hungry for a sandwich of my own.

What are other creative ways to promote chicken?

The Hillshire Farm/Amy Sedaris collaboration is just one example of celebrities using their influence to market meat and poultry products. I also recently wrote about how Luke Bryan is using his vast social media reach to educate consumers about the pork industry.
