McDonald’s will add the Chicken Big Mac to U.S. menus following tests in Florida. The menu item is popular in the U.K. and Ireland, where it quickly sold out after its 2022 debut.

“This was so popular in the UK and Australia that they had to pull it from the menu due to supply issues (remember the Popeye's Chicken Sandwich launch?) so it will be very interesting to see how this does nationwide - it was tested in the Miami area in late 2022.”
CEO Chris Kempczinski teased the return of the chicken sandwich in a TikTok video in August, although he did not specify a release date for the sandwich.
“It’s been on our menu before and it’s going to make a comeback,” he said.
The Chicken Big Mac features a chicken patty between two buns, along with the same ingredients of a traditional Big Mac minus onions.
Chicken is a primary focus for McDonald’s right now. According to Kempczinski, the demand for chicken is growing at a faster rate than that as beef.
“By featuring our beloved icons like McNuggets and McChicken, while driving growth in emerging favorites like McCrispy and McSpicy, our chicken sales are now on par with beef sales,” he said during a July 29 quarterly earnings call.
