Poland’s IKO to use broiler feather sexing system WingScan

IKO’s investment, a European first for the technology, will raise broiler producer’s efficiency, quality and welfare standards.

IKO Kompania Drobiarska (IKO), an integrated poultry producer in Poland, is to install animal agtech company TARGAN’s automated feather-sexing system WingScan.

IKO CEO Zbigniew Idziaszek commented: “We’re proud to be one of the first in Europe to integrate WingScan into our hatchery and look forward to the positive impact as we continue to expand our operations.”

He continued that that WingScan would align perfectly with IKO’s goals of increasing efficiency, enhancing quality, and improving welfare standards across all stated of production.

IKO currently supplies retailers, wholesalers, and partners in Europe, Africa and Asia.

European first

The contract between IKO and TARGAN was announced following WingScan’s European debut at agricultural trade show EuroTier in November.

Tomasz Zimnicki, Area Sales Manager with Viscon Hatchery Automation, TARGAN’s commercial distribution and service partner for WingScan in selected European markets, commented: “This collaboration provides a tremendous opportunity to meet the specific needs of the European market.

Ramin Karimpour, TARGAN Founder and CEO, added that the company’s WingScan system had been specifically designed with the European market in mind.
