Avian flu outbreak ravages Latin America, 500K birds lost

Three commercial broiler farms in Mexico, were hit by avian flu this past February with about 200,000 to 300,000 birds per farm.

A new influx of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) cases has been reported across Latin America beginning this past February resulting in the deaths of more than an estimated 528,000 birds, according to the World Organization for Animal Health.
