HatchTech acquires NYtor

Collaboration will enhance HatchTech's innovation capacity.

Dutch incubation company HatchTech Group has acquired NYtor, a DNA-based diagnostics firm, to enhance its innovation capacity.

HatchTech has expertise in using PCR technology for sorting male and female eggs, enabling commercial in-ovo sexing since 2018 through its subsidiary, Respeggt. The acquisition aims to drive high-volume, low-cost in-ovo sexing for various agricultural systems, particularly poultry, aligning with HatchTech's goal of making sex determination in eggs economically viable for all hatcheries.

Tjitze Meter, HatchTech's CEO, emphasized the collaboration's potential to accelerate innovation in agriculture, leveraging NYtor's PCR expertise. NYtor's CEO, Han Zendman, highlighted the alignment between its DNA expertise and HatchTech's ecosystem, promising mutual benefits from the partnership.
