Turkey processor names vice president

Norbest, a food service and retail turkey processor, named Robert Wangerien as vice president of sales and marketing for the company. The announcement was made by Matt Cook, CEO.

Norbest, a food service and retail turkey processor, named Robert Wangerien as vice president of sales and marketing for the company. The announcement was made by Matt Cook, CEO.

Wangerien brings with him over 25 years of sales and marketing experience in the food industry including his most recent position as senior vice president of marketing at Foster Farms, where he spent over 15 years. During his tenure at Foster Farms, Wangerien directed the company's foodservice business, re-launched the fresh turkey product line and led the growth of the further processed business. Prior to this, Wangerien held numerous sales management and marketing positions with Butterball, Cargill and ConAgra.

At Norbest, Wangerien will be responsible for all sales and marketing activities to support the strategic direction and growth of Norbest's Foodservice and Retail Divisions. "We are confident that Bob's leadership and vast industry experience will have a strong impact on the direction of Norbest. He has a clear vision of the Norbest brand and its premium position in the marketplace," stated Cook.

Wangerien has a Bachelors of Science degree from Clarkson University and a Master in Business Administration from the University of  Georgia. He and his wife Tilda have 5 children.
