2021 Poultry Tech Summit logoWatch on demand now to explore gene-editing technology as a potential solution to male chick culls.

Peter Ahrendt, Ph.D., CEO, Animoni ApS, will discuss a new solution for high-precision weighing of broilers that uses 3D camera technology to capture both the shape and volume of the birds and can record even in the dark with its internal IR light source. Yuval Cinnamon, Ph.D., principal investigator, Agricultural Research Organization, The Volcani Center - NRS Poultry Sustainability and Transformation, will talk about how genetic engineering technology generated a layer breed that produces only non-GMO layer hens hatch which lay the same table eggs as those currently produced by the industry "Male" eggs do not develop, saving 50% of incubation space and energy. Pedro Gómez, CEO, Orbem GmbH, will present on a combination of MRI and AI to help identify the eggs that will develop into healthy one-day-old chicks.
