KFC’S Hot & Spicy Wings are spicy marinated and feature the brand’s signature Extra Crispy breading. The chicken wings debut at participating locations on September 10 for a limited time, retailing at $4.99.

"We're coming in HOT (and spicy) this football season with a truly unmatched deal," said Nick Chavez, CMO, KFC U.S. "Bench the other players. Why get 6 wings for $5.99 when you can start our 8 pc. Hot & Spicy Wings instead for just $4.99?"

To promote the new wings, KFC partnered with football legend Deion Sanders in a new ad spot. Additional promotion beginning September 14 will feature sports journalist, Taylor Rooks, and pro quarterback, Kirk Cousins.

Popeyes Sweet ‘N Spicy Wings a hot seller

KFC isn’t the only quick service brand adding chicken wings to menu. In August, Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen announced the Sweet ‘N Spicy Wings.

A basket of six Sweet ‘N Spicy Wings for $5.99 at participating locations for a limited time. The Sweet ‘N Spicy Wings are marinated and tossed in a blend of chili, garlic and ginger.

Sales of the Sweet ‘N Spicy Wings appear to be going well, according to a post on X, the social media channel formerly known as Twitter. The tweet showed a long line of cars in the drive thru along with the words, “Y’all got wings?”

Chicken wings and football have long been associated with each other.According to the National Chicken Council’s annual Chicken Wing Report, Americans ate 1.45 billion wings over Super Bowl LVII weekend this past January.
