Because the middle class is growing quickly in Africa, food consumption patterns are changing. People are beginning to move away from a vegetable-based diet to a protein-based one.
This large-scale shift requires developments in professional farming and availability of the latest date technologies and innovations.
To serve the needs of this changing landscape, VNU Exhibitions will present a boutique-style event: Poultry Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa’s first quality expo in combination with a leadership conference and technical best practices. The event will be held October 4-5, 2017 at the Kigali Convention Centre in Kigali, Rwanda. One thousand visitors from all of Sub-Saharan Africa are expected to attend.
The leadership conference will focus on antimicrobial resistance, avian influenza, poultry welfare and zoonotic pathogens, supported by the World Veterinary Poultry Association. Also, VIV worldwide and its partners will focus on marketing and trade opportunities for Africa. Presentations will be in English and French.
The World Poultry Science Association will be held October 3-4, 2017; the expo and technical seminars October 4-5, 2017; and the leadership conference October 4-5, 2017. On October 5, WATT Global Media will present a marketing outlook featuring discussion on eggs, broiler meat and precision nutrition. Mark Clements, editor of Poultry International, will chair the session.
