Watch on demand now to learn how to streamline data collection about poultry flocks with sensors, IoT, AI and feedback systems.
Russell Jones, commercial development, OPTIfarm, will share how data collection, algorithms and feedback systems can help integrators identify issues and solve problems to improve flock outcomes. Lilong Chai, Ph.D., assistant professor and poultry engineering specialist, University of Georgia will discuss how machine vision can be used to detect broiler floor distribution patterns, behaviors and welfare patterns. Inanc Birol, Ph.D., chief scientific officer, Amphoraxe Life Sciences Inc., will talk about antimicrobial peptides as a replacement for poultry antibiotics.
WHAT YOU’LL LEARN:
- Learn how to streamline data collection about poultry flocks with sensors, IoT, AI and feedback systems.
- Learn how machine learning can simplify poultry floor distribution monitoring.
- Understand how antimicrobial peptides could be a safe alternative for preventing and treating poultry bacterial diseases in a post-antibiotic era.
This is the third webinar of the '2021 Poultry Tech Summit Webinar Series: What’s coming next.' During this seven-part webinar series industry experts will preview what’s coming next – from prospective solutions to developing technology – for the poultry industry.
This webinar series is sponsored by: Arm & Hammer, Aviagen, Baader, Boehringer Ingelheim, Cargill, Ceva, Chore-Time, Cobb, Evonik, Marel, Phibro Animal Health, Staubli, and Zoetis.
Presented by WATT Poultry and WATT Global Media.
Russell Jones, commercial development, OPTIfarm
Russell Jones has been involved in the livestock industry commercially since the early 1990s. Before completing a degree in Agriculture, he worked on large Dairy and Beef farms in South West England. Pig and poultry equipment sales developed into a career in animal health where understanding data and using it productively helped propel efficiency. Smith held senior positions in monogastrates, equine and ruminants within animal health globally before advising investment bankers and farmers in anaerobic digestion. Joining OPTIfarm after five years with Cobb as commercial manager, he now promotes understanding data effectively to make a positive difference.
Lilong Chai, Ph.D., assistant professor and poultry engineering specialist, University of Georgia
Lilong Chai is a tenure-track assistant professor and engineering specialist in the Department of Poultry Science at the University of Georgia (UGA) since 2018. His research and extension interests include animal environmental engineering and precision poultry farming. Prior to joining UGA, Chai was a postdoc research associate in the department of agricultural and biosystems engineering at Iowa State University (ISU).
Inanc Birol, Ph.D., chief scientific officer, Amphoraxe Life Sciences Inc.
Inanç Birol, Ph.D., is a distinguished scientist of genome sciences at BC Cancer, a professor of medical genetics at the University of British Columbia, and an Adjunct Scientist at the British Columbia Centre for Disease Control.
