USPOULTRY and the USPOULTRY Foundation are now accepting research pre-proposals until May 1 from academic and research institutions for the Fall 2024 Research Competition. Twice annually, in spring and fall, proposals are reviewed for potential funding.
Pre-proposals, concise one-page synopses, should be submitted via the new online form. The Foundation Research Advisory Committee will assess pre-proposals and invite full proposals aligned with current research interests.
Detailed research priorities, encompassing areas such as animal welfare, nutrition and food safety, are available on the USPOULTRY website. Additionally, proposals addressing emerging issues outside these priorities will be considered based on their research justification. Selected projects will be funded in late September.
With an annual research budget exceeding $1 million, USPOULTRY's comprehensive program covers all facets of poultry and egg production and processing. Since its inception, the program has reinvested over $36 million in industry research grants, benefiting more than 50 universities and government facilities.
