Shell eggs broken totaled 152 million dozen during February 2008, up 1 percent from February a year ago, but 12 percent below the 172 million broken last month.


Whole shell eggs broken were up 4 percent from February 2007; egg whites were down 5 percent; and egg yolks were down 5 percent compared to a year earlier. Inedible product from shell eggs broken was up 5 percent.
