Shell eggs broken up 1% from 2007

Shell eggs broken totaled 183 million dozen during October, up 1% from October a year ago and 2% above the 179 million broken in September. During calendar year 2008 through October, shell eggs broken totaled 1,725 million dozen, up 3% from the comparable period in 2007. To date, cumulative total edible products from eggs broken in 2008 are 2,257 million pounds, up 3% from 2007
