“As producers of turkey, pork and eggs, we value the Animal Agriculture Alliance’s role in bridging the communication gap between farm and fork,” said Gary Cooper, an owner and CEO of Cooper Farms based in Van Wert, Ohio. “The Alliance engages food chain influencers to help share with the public that we strive every day to care for our animals and land.”

Terry Wehrkamp, director of live production, serves on the Alliance board of directors and will become the chairperson of the board in May 2017. “Serving on the Alliance board of directors allows me to connect with others across the agriculture industry. I’m thrilled we have taken our partnership with the Alliance a step further by matching 'Giving Tuesday' donations to help protect the future of animal agriculture.”

“We are excited for this opportunity for our supporters’ contributions to go twice as far,” said Kay Johnson Smith, president and CEO of the Alliance. “I encourage all involved with animal agriculture—producers, veterinarians, processors, industry professionals and others—to use this occasion to personally support the Alliance.”

The Animal Agriculture Alliance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization so donations will be 100 percent tax deductible. All online donations made on Nov. 29 from 12 a.m. EST to 11:59 p.m. EST by individuals will be matched up to a total of $5,000.
