One of Sweden’s leading poultry companies, Blenta, has been presented with a Cobb “Champion” award for achieving an average hatchability of 90 percent.

“It was a great pleasure to present this award,” said Tom Procter, Cobb sales manager in Scandinavia. “The farm manager Kent Andersson, in particular, thoroughly deserves to be recognized for such a consistently high hatch. The attention to detail that Kent and his team demonstrates is second to none, as seen in his continually exceptional performance.’’

Torbjörn Persson, chief executive of Blenta, said, “We are exceptionally proud at Blenta to become a Cobb ‘Champion.’ Kent and all our other employees are doing a great job with the birds. To achieve this award is only possible through excellent management all the way through our production chain—from placing day-old parent stock right through to quality broiler chicks from our hatchery.”

The Cobb “Champion” awards were introduced by Cobb Europe in spring 2016 to recognize world class performance in breeder, hatchery and broiler performance. The first awards went to companies in South Africa, Germany and the UK.
