A man has been charged with murder for the alleged fatal stabbing of a co-worker at the AlaTrade Foods poultry processing plant in Phenix City, Alabama.

According to local news reports, Phenix City police were called to the plant at 7:40 a.m. on March 25, following an alleged altercation that led to one man being stabbed multiple times in the upper body. The victim, who was identified as Reggie Milner, was transported to Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown for treatment, but he was pronounced dead in the emergency room.

The suspect, identified as Eugene Holt Jr., was taken into custody and faces murder charges.

According to the AlaTrade Foods website, the Phenix City plant specializes in front-half deboning, breast portioning and tender portioning.

In 2014, Wayne Farms announced it was discontinuing the deboning lines at its plant in Dothan, Alabama, because it entered a long-term contract with AlaTrade to debone 100% of the poultry slaughtered at Wayne Farms’ Dothan facility.

AlaTrade also has facilities in the Alabama communities of Boaz and Albertville.
