JBS has appointed Francisco Turra and Cledorvino Belini to its board of directors.

The Brazil-based company reported the appointments in a Material Fact, dated October 28 and published on its investor relations webpage.

The two will replace Wesley Mendonça Batista Filho and Aguinaldo Gomes Ramos Filho, who have resigned.

Turro is known for his extensive experience in the agribusiness sector and in the financial market, having held the positions of vice president and director of operations of the BRDE bank between 2007 and 2008 and CEO of Banrisul from 1995 to 1996. He was also president of the National Food Supply Company (Conab), president of the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA) and vice president of the Latin American Poultry Association.

Turro stepped down from his role as ABPA president in 2020, having been succeeded by Ricardo Santin, but he retained his position on ABPA’s advisory council.

With a career spanning more than 40 years in multinational companies, Belini held the position of CEO of the automotive manufacturing company Fiat in Brazil and in Latin America for 11 years, between 2004 and 2015. He was president of the National Association of Automotive Vehicle Manufacturers (Anfavea) between 2010 and 2013 and CEO of Companhia Energética de Minas Gerais S.A. (Cemig), from February 2019 to January 2020.

“The management wishes to thank Mr. Wesley Mendonça Batista Filho and Mr. Aguinaldo Gomes Ramos Filho for their dedication and important contributions over the last four years during which they performed their duties as directors of the company, and extends a welcome to the new directors,” JBS stated.

Other board members for JBS are Jeremiah O’Callaghan, José Batista Sobrinho, Alba Pettengill, Gilberto Meirelles Xandó Baptista, Márcio Guedes Pereira Júnior, Gelson Luiz Merisio and Leila Abraham Loria. O’Callaghan is the board’s chairman, while Batista Sobrinho is the vice chairman.
