10 key messages from the 5th Global Feed and Food 2016

The 5th Global Feed and Food Congress took place in Antalya, Turkey, this year and looked at how to achieve equity and prosperity for all. The event's take-home messages were: 

1. Feeding the planet is crucial for equity and prosperity.
2. There are significant challenges, but tremendous opportunities.
3. Sustainability is at the core of industry challenges.
4. You cannot have environmental sustainability without economic sustainability, and vice versa.
5. There must be a balanced regulatory framework based on science.

7. Harmonization is crucial to make that happen, and this can be achieved step by step.
8. Research and development is important to meet the sustainability challenge, and to give industry an edge.
9. Information should be shared to meet challenges.
10. Stakeholders need to work in partnership.
