Foster Farms appoints Dan Huber as CEO

Foster Farms has appointed Dan Huber to the position of chief executive officer.

Foster Farms has appointed Dan Huber to the position of chief executive officer.

Huber’s appointment was made by the company’s board of directors and was effective February 13.

Huber, according to a press release from Foster Farms, has held several leadership positions at Foster Farms since he first joined the company in 1996. He most recently served the company as its chief operations officer.

Huber, 53, succeeds Laura Flanagan as CEO, who was named to that position in August 2016. Flanagan, who was previously the president of he ConAgra Foods Snacks Division, has resigned from Foster Farms to pursue other opportunities.

“Dan is uniquely qualified to lead Foster Farms,” said Terry Martin, chairman of the board, “He brings over 23 years of agribusiness, supply chain, food production, food safety, and branded sales management experience to this position. His depth of expertise and familiarity with Foster Farms’ business and community are strengths that will drive the company into the future. We thank Laura for her many contributions to Foster Farms and wish her the best in her future endeavors.”

Prior to joining Foster Farms, Huber held sales and management positions within the Oscar Mayer and Kraft Foods organizations. He has participated on several industry boards including the U.S. Poultry and Egg Association, National Chicken Council and National Turkey Federation.

He graduated from University of Colorado-Colorado Springs with a bachelor’s degree in finance. Huber has resided in the Central Valley for nearly 20 years with his family and is committed to the local community.

Foster Farms is the United States’ largest poultry producer along the West Coast. The WATTAgNet Top Poultry Companies Database lists Foster Farms as The 13th largest broiler company in the nation, and the country’s 12th largest turkey company, according to 2017 figures. A privately-held company, Foster Farms is headquartered in Livingston, California.
