Vencomatic Group has acquired Van Gent Laying Nests.

The two family-owned businesses from the Netherlands announced the transaction on January 13. Vencomatic Group, according to a press release, is a developer of sustainable poultry systems, while Ven Gent Laying Nests is a reliable player in the breeding and laying sector.

Van Gent Laying Nests has been in existence for more than 50 years. But the company and its founders, Teus and Netty van Gent, say it is “time for an acquisition,” so they can “enjoy some more free time.

Teus said Vencomatic Group is a “reliable partner” with a “long-term vision that stands for quality, reliability and service.”

“For our company, the team and the customers, this step provides certainty for a bright future. This really means a lot to us,” Teus said.

“We have always had a great deal of respect for Van Gent with its cast-iron reputation for service and technical results,” said Vencomatic Group CEO Lotte van de Ven.

With the acquisition, Vencomatic Group becomes a supplier of the Van Gent Laying Nests, and strengthens its position in the broiler breeder sector.

Financial terms of the transaction were not made known.
