Ronald Kers is stepping down from the position of CEO of the U.K.’s largest poultry meat producer prior to taking up the same position in the Valeo Foods Group.

Earlier this month, Kers’ departure from 2 Sisters Food Group was announced by its parent company, Boparan Holdings Limited.

To ensure a smooth handover to his successor, he will remain in the company for a six-month notice period, overseeing the group’s EUP Poultry as well as its Pastry operations in the U.K. and the Republic of Ireland. Meanwhile, the U.K. Poultry & Ready Meals operations will be managed by Boparan Holdings’ president, Ranjit Singh. All Group functions will be the responsibility of CFO Craig Tomkinson, and all three executives will report directly to non-executive chairman, Richard Pennycook.

Over the transition period, the Board of 2 Sisters will review its leadership and structure.

In 2018, Kers was appointed as CEO of 2 Sisters Food Group.

Pennycook credits Kers with playing a pivotal role in moving the 2 Sisters’ business forward in the right direction over the past five years.

On the same date, the Board of Valeo Foods Group announced the appointment of Ronald Kers as its Group CEO. In this role, he will succeed Seamus Kearney, who has decided to step away from day-to-day leadership of this business.

Founded in 2010, Valeo Foods Group is a food company with operations in the U.K., Ireland, and Europe. Since then, 18 acquisitions have resulted in a diverse range of leading food brands at each of its operations. These include well-known brands from honey and potato chips, to cakes and cookies.
