Butterball has hired Chris Krumrey as vice president of plant product quality. In this role, Krumrey will provide strategic direction for company-wide product quality programs and set the standard for expectations on product specifications and quality.
Krumrey will be responsible for the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to manufacturing processes and quality standards throughout the facilities, and challenging current practices to improve product quality and process consistency. He will also serve as the official liaison for government officials, outside auditors and customers.
Krumrey brings 30 years of experience in the food industry specializing in areas of food safety modernization, quality systems advancement, product development, process design, and manufacturing performance. He joins Butterball from The Kraft Heinz Company where his key achievements included commercialization of new technologies and process improvements, building and developing teams equipped to manage technical, operational and financial aspects of meat processing and initial development and implementation of the company’s live animal welfare program in accordance with emerging industry guidelines.

Krumrey is a graduate of the University of Missouri with a bachelor of science in agriculture, food science and nutrition with an emphasis in meat and dairy sciences. He holds HACCP/SSOP, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma Black Belt certifications.
