USDA’s Economic Research Service predicted annual 2008 prices to be 95 cents to  $1.02/dozen

USDA estimates that egg prices in 2008 will be strong, measured by historical standards, although not quite as strong as 2007’s record. In its most recent Livestock, Dairy, and Poultry report released in late December, USDA’s Economic Research Service predicted annual 2008 prices to be 95 cents to  $1.02/dozen, New York. ERS predicts prices to be $1.07 to $1.13 in the first quarter, 94 cents to $1.02 in the second quarter, and 87 to 95 cents in the third quarter.

By comparison, prices for 2007 were $1.13, 71.8 cents in 2006, 65.5 cents for 2005, and  82.2 cents for 2004.
