From WATTAgNet:

National Food Corp. and indirect purchasers have resolved allegations that National Food participated in a price-fixing conspiracy among egg producers, and has asked a federal court in Pennsylvania to dismiss the claims.

Law 360 reported that details of the agreement were not given.

The case dates back to 2008, when direct and indirect egg product purchasers accused major egg producers in the United States of using a certification program to carry out a price-fixing conspiracy.

According to a press release from the law firm Lite DePalma Greenberg LLC, National Food Corp. is one of several egg companies and organizations to agree to a settlement. Also reaching settlements were Michael Foods, Midwest Poultry Services, United Egg Producers and United States Egg Marketers, NuCal Foods and Hillandale Farms.

Several of the companies that have settled had earlier stated that the settlments were not done as an admission of guilt, but rather to avoid the continued hassles and legal costs with the litigation.
