Susan V. Grooters has been appointed to the National Advisory Committee on Microbiological Criteria for Foods as a consumer representative.
Grooters will serve a two-year term, providing a consumer viewpoint to the committee's food safety work. She is currently serving as director of research and education with STOP Foodborne Illness. Grooters holds a master of public health degree in epidemiology from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and a bachelor's degree in nutrition and food sciences from the University of Vermont.
Grooters' appointment to the committee brings the total membership to 31 individuals from various fields.
