IPWA collaborating with Fresno State COOP

Organization is launching educational training modules.

The International Poultry Welfare Alliance (IPWA) is excited to launch educational training modules in collaboration with Fresno State's Center for the Optimization of Poultry (COOP). These modules, complementing the Key Welfare Indicator (KWI) Guides, are designed to enhance industry knowledge and promote best practices in poultry welfare.

Developed through the partnership between IPWA and COOP, these user-friendly courses cover all aspects of the Key Welfare Indicator Guides, reflecting a commitment to advancing global poultry welfare. The modules are hosted on COOP's platform, accessible through the Fresno State and IPWA websites. Currently, four broiler-focused modules are live, with turkey and laying hen modules planned for 2024 and translations into other languages in 2025.

Nick Wolfenden, co-chair of IPWA's Education and Training committee, expressed excitement about the impact of these modules: "We are thrilled to unveil these educational training modules as part of our ongoing efforts to promote the highest standards of poultry welfare globally."
