Lack of power in South Africa is causing significant harm to the country’s poultry sector, there appear to be few signs of the situation improving.

From production to retail, the South African poultry sector is being damaged by difficulties in the country’s power generation sector. Production costs have risen, output has been cut back and there appears to be little light at the end of the tunnel. There have been warnings that chicken may even become a luxury item in the country.
