2022 favored Latin America's egg sector, chicken declined

Numerous Latin American countries produced more broiler meat last year, but Brazil's broiler industry, overall, contracted. The region’s egg industry, in contrast witnessed an expansion.

2022 would appear to have been, at best, a year of stagnation for Latin America’s poultry production. Chicken production in the region contracted by 2.83% compared to the previous year, while the layer population, and consequently egg production, rose by 2.38%.
