Vietnam animal feed producer Japfa Comfeed Long An Ltd. and swine genetics company Hypor B.V. have signed an agreement to establish a health pig breeding unit in Vietnam.
The new entity, Japfa Hypor Genetics Company, will produce reproduction pigs and semen for the needs of Japfa’s own pig production. It will also set up a sales and service organization to commercialize gilts and semen in the Vietnamese market. Construction of the new high health facility will start as soon as the deal is approved and finalized. “The joint venture is set to combine the strengths of a high health nucleus herd housing Hypor’s top genetics with the extensive network of Japfa in Vietnam,” said Raf Beeren, managing director of Hypor. “Our team of professionals that brings a background of practical knowledge and hands-on expertise will support this joint venture, Japfa and the Vietnamese commercial pig producers to realize the full potential of our genetics.”
