IPE 2012 offers applications, programs to enhance show experience
Smartphone App, cook-offs, industry retrospectives round out week of events
The 2012 International Poultry Expo, to be held from January 24 through 26 in Atlanta, Ga., is approaching, and a number of applications, activities and programs are being offered to facilitate attendees' trips and make their visits more efficient and enjoyable.
A smartphone App has been created to give attendees instant access to program schedules, list and location of exhibitors and a map to help locate targeted suppliers. The iPhone, iPad or iTouch App can be downloaded by tapping the AppStore icon on your phone and searching for "ipe/ife12." For the Blackberry and other smartphones, tap your browser button and go to http://ipeife12.taptopia.info.
Attendees can set up a planner for the entire IPE/IFE week, tying in visits to exhibitors and time management for education through Map Your Show. Go to www.ipeweek12.org or www.ife12.org and click on any of the Map Your Show icons.
An Atlanta welcoming reception at the Georgia Aquarium will be held on January 24, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets are required for admission. There is no charge but they can be picked up in the B-Building lobby. Availability is limited and distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. The ticket counter opens at noon on January 23. Other events include FeatherFest, a U.S. Poultry & Egg Association-sponsored challenge to find Atlanta's most popular and best poultry dishes; Food Fight Cage Match II, an omelette cooking demonstration followed by an Atlanta chef cook-off; and a retrospective display on the American egg industry.
