Midwest Poultry Federation donates $5,000 to industry programs

The Midwest Poultry Federation has continued its support for the Midwest Poultry Consortium and the consortium's core programs — the Center of Excellence Scholarship/Internship Program and the Midwest Poultry Research Program — with a $5,000 contribution for 2012. For 2012, the Center of Excellence, which provides scholarships to students to earn up to 18 credits over the course of two summers for an emphasis in poultry science, awarded scholarships to 27 students, representing 10 of the 13 Midwest Poultry Consortium member states.

The Midwest Poultry Federation has continued its support for the Midwest Poultry Consortium and the consortium's core programs — the Center of Excellence Scholarship/Internship Program and the Midwest Poultry Research Program — with a $5,000 contribution for 2012.

For 2012, the Center of Excellence, which provides scholarships to students to earn up to 18 credits over the course of two summers for an emphasis in poultry science, awarded scholarships to 27 students, representing 10 of the 13 Midwest Poultry Consortium member states. The Midwest Poultry Research Program has addressed some of the most critical research needs within the poultry industry. To date, it has funded over $4.6 million worth of poultry projects focusing on everything from food safety to animal welfare.
