Brazil sets new production record in 2011

The Brazilian Association of Poultry Producers and Exporters, UBABEF, reported that the Brazilian chicken meat production reached 13.058 million MT in 2011, a 6.8% rise compared to 2010, thus setting a new record.

As in the same period the Chinese production reached 13.2 million MT, according to USDA, it means the tonnage that separates Brazil, third largest producer, from China, second largest producer, shrank from 320 thousand tons, in 2010, to 142 thousand tons in 2011.
