Diamond V announces new members of the company’s poultry team in North America. 

Sharon Heins Miller, DVM, has joined Diamond V as poultry technical specialist, one of the newest members of a rapidly growing team of Diamond V experts bringing innovative research, products, value, and support to the poultry industry. “Dr. Miller brings 28 years of dedicated service to the poultry industry,” said Dr. Don McIntyre, Director of North American Poultry Research and Technical Service. “most recently she was Director of Veterinary Services for House of Raeford. She previously worked in veterinary services and management positions for Merial Select, Alpharma Animal Health, and Pfizer/Zoetis Global Poultry.”

Sharon earned her B.S. in poultry science and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from North Carolina State University, Raleigh. She also completed the Avian Internship program in the College of Veterinary Medicine at NC State. She maintains Board Certification from the American College of Poultry Veterinarians. Her other qualifications include Professional Animal Auditor Certification Organization (PAACO) certification for animal welfare auditing, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) compliance certification, USDA accreditation for Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), and membership in the American Association of Avian Pathologists (AAAP) and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA).

Shannon Burasco also has joined Diamond V’s poultry team as Business Manager – Broilers. “Shannon brings Diamond V over 25 years of leadership experience,” said Mike Mitchell, Director of North American Poultry, “including 18 years’ experience in the poultry industry, most recently as President of CWT Farms International, a global supplier of broiler genetics.”

Shannon’s poultry industry background includes responsibility for production, sales, and management and experience in genetics, feed ingredients, and animal health companies. Raised on a broiler farm in Farmington, AR, Shannon holds a bachelor’s degree in Poultry Science from the University of Arkansas, where he served as the President of the Board for the Poultry Science Alumni Organization and as a member of the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food & Life Sciences Alumni Board. Shannon also is a U.S. Air Force veteran with experience serving in the UK.
