Global: Alltech announces Young Scientist Award winner

Utah State University student takes home award

As part of its commitment to furthering scientific education, Alltech presented its Young Scientist Award to Craig Louder as part of Alltech's 24th International Animal Health and Nutrition Symposium on April 22 in Lexington, Kentucky. A student at Utah State University, Louder submitted a scientific paper on "The Estrogenic Mycotoxin Zearalenone and its Importance in Livestock Production," to win the award and a $5,000 scholarship. The competition, currently in its third year, provides a forum for undergraduate students throughout the world to interact with one of the leading players in the animal feed industry while strengthening their research skills. The 2008 program drew 727 entries from over 80 distinguished universities around the world, more than doubling the participation level in 2007.
