Higher prices in May for Czech pig producers

Overall prices of animal products 16.6% lower in May.

The Czech Republic reported 5.6% higher producer prices of pigs for slaughter in May than in the same month last year, according to the Czech statistical officer.

However, overall prices of animal products were 16.6% lower in May compared to the previous year.

The Czech Ministry of Agriculture said modern technologies similar to those used in the EU are used at livestock farms with the focus on protecting the environment. It added that livestock production was for the domestic and export markets.
