Tyson Foods endorsed the “We Care” pork initiative during the World Pork Expo on June 3 in Des Moines, Iowa.
The initiative, developed by the National Pork Board and National Pork Producers Council, demonstrates that producers are committed and accountable to established ethical principles such as their responsibility to the environment, public health, employee care and community relations.
As part of the initiative, Tyson Foods is asking all producers to be PQA Plus-certified by June 30, 2010, and to complete a site assessment by January 1, 2011.
