Brazil’s Plasson to acquire layer cage company ATI

Plasson Ltd., a Brazilian provider of poultry and swine equipment, has agreed to acquire 70 percent of Sangyo Equipamentos Avícolas (ATI), a company incorporated in Brazil that manufactures cages for commercial laying hens and egg sorting machinery.

Plasson Ltd., a Brazilian provider of poultry and swine equipment, has agreed to acquire 70 percent of Sangyo Equipamentos Avícolas (ATI), a company incorporated in Brazil that manufactures cages for commercial laying hens and egg sorting machinery.

The planned purchase was approved by Plasson’s board of directors.

Completion of the transaction is subject to conditions precedent and the signing of a detailed agreement with ATI. However, officials from Plasson believe that the transaction will be completed by the end of 2016.

Other growth plans for Plasson

Plasson is working to expand its operations in Brazil in accordance with its plans, and in view of identifying new potential segments in this market, despite the challenging situation of the Brazilian economy.

According to a news release from the company, Plasson plans also to start this year the establishment of a new plant to produce poultry houses, as part of the completion of the product portfolio to its customers.

Plasson Ltd. was established in 1964 and is operating in more than 60 countries with fully owned subsidiaries in Brazil, Mexico, France, South Africa and China.
