Cobb presents Asia-Pacific Technical School

Four days of training covered topics from grandparent selection to broiler management

More than 130 customers from all over Asia took part in the Cobb Asia-Pacific technical school in Macau, China. Four days of training courses covered topics from grandparent selection and broiler management to updates on the latest Cobb genetic improvements.

Welcoming the delegates Pelayo Casanovas, Cobb general manager for the Asia-Pacific region, said he hoped they would make new friends with people there while gaining further knowledge of the chicken business. Thirty-five grandparent distributors and their parent stock customers were represented at the event.

Orlando Fernandz, Cobb Asian regional director of technical services, congratulated companies on their superior performance in 2015. He said, “Asian customers spoke highly of Cobb because of the technical service we provide on every level of the production chain. They prefer Cobb as the breed of choice for the Asian market.

“The top performing breeder flocks and companies with grandparent and parent stocks have surpassed the established Cobb breed standards at the end of the production cycle.”

Performance awards for grandparent and parent stock levels were presented during the banquet on the final night. The honorees included Leong Hup of Malaysia, CPF of Thailand, Islamabad of Pakistan, Wonokoyo of Indonesia, PT Bibit of Indonesia, Emivest of Vietnam and Bounty Fresh of Philippines.
