Man fatally shot in Peco Foods parking lot

A man was fatally shot in the parking lot of the Peco Foods poultry processing plant in Bay Springs, Mississippi. A suspect has been charged with murder in connection with the incident.

A man was fatally shot in the parking lot of the Peco Foods poultry processing plant in Bay Springs, Mississippi. A suspect has been charged with murder in connection with the incident.

WBRZ reported that Eddie Bernard Davis died after being shot multiple times on the morning of April 7.

The suspect has been identified as Raffell Montrell Franklin. Authorities said Franklin had fled the scene to his mother’s home, but later turned himself in. A motive for the shooting has not yet been revealed.

Peco Foods said in a statement the company is cooperating with authorities and its 'deepest sympathies are with the families and friends of the employees involved.'

Peco Foods, according to the WATTAgNet Top Poultry Companies Database, processed 29.21 million pounds of ready-to-cook chicken on a weekly basis in 2016. It has six poultry processing plants and one further processing plant.
